Precision agriculture : what is it ?
Precision agriculture is a subject that we had already discussed in a previous article on “wind measurement in precision agriculture“, but it is always important to recall the definition.
Also known as AGTech or Agri Tech, precision agriculture is defined by the integration of new technologies such as sensors, satellites or drones to optimize the yields of a plot of land . The goal is to achieve better productivity with fewer resources.

It’s a way for farmers to improve their comfort at work and have some benefits like:
- Improve their agronomy skills, for over- or under-application problems;
- Grow in a more sustainable way;
- Enhance the value of the farmers’ profession;
- Better understand the functioning of the soil-crop couple in relation to the weather;
- Use inputs economically and limit the environmental impact;
The use of decision support tools allows farmers to access different data via web or mobile applications.
Copeeks : solutions for a connected livestock?

Copeeks, based in Lannion in Brittany, is a player in precision agriculture. The company is a designer and manufacturer of decision support solutions for the agricultural world, particularly for livestock.
The objective is to offer a product that allows farmers to improve the living environment of animals and to contribute to the performance of livestock buildings.
Two solutions of Copeeks : Peek analytics et Diagno’Peek
For the moment, Copeeks markets two solutions: PEEK Analytics and Diagno’Peek. The first one allows to monitor the farms and to be alerted in real time in case of anomaly and the second one is a diagnostic tool for the atmosphere of the breeding buildings.
Other promising innovations are to come for the French company. Two new products are winners of the Innov’Space 2022 prize. The first novelty, HIP’PEEK, is intended for the equine breeding for the early detection of foaling by analyzing images.
While the second novelty, Copeeks realizes an autonomous robot of supervision of breeding, called RO’ PEEK. This robot is intended for animal or vegetal agricultural productions.
PEEK Analytics : continuous observation of the farms
The PEEK Analytics, for sale or rent, is an offer where the equipment equipped with sensors and a camera communicates on a data analysis platform with artificial intelligence.

Diagno’Peek : diagnosis of the atmosphere in livestock buildings
Diagno’Peek uses ultrasonic wind sensors SONIC-ANEMO-SDI de LCJ Capteurs.

Copeeks’ Diagno’Peek is a concentrate of technologies since this mobile equipment is used in parallel with an application that analyzes all the data collected.

The key features of Diagno’PEEK
For whom ?
What are the sensors inside the Diagno’Peek?
The influence of air currents in livestock buildings
What are the indicators to analyze in a livestock building?
The Diagn’PEEK consists of several sensors to perform a complete audit of the livestock building. Here are the main indicators:
- Temperature,
- Humidity,
- Air circulation,
- Nh3 (ammoniac, a toxic gas),
- Fine particles,
- CO2,
- etc.

Environmental parameters that promote animal welfare
The audit is carried out in closed but also open livestock buildings where the atmosphere and environment are different for the animals (cattle, poultry, pigs, sheep, goats). It is important that there is good ventilation so that the air renewal is adequate to maintain health and productivity (for the animals and the breeders). Indeed, a good air circulation allows to reduce dust and humidity, thus a better environment.
Each analysis and audit are reasoned on a case-by-case basis, several points to consider such as:
- the region,
- the climate,
- the prevailing winds,
- the topography of the land,
- the method of breeding,
- etc.

It remains complicated to talk about a subject that we are not confronted with every day. We prefer to provide you with additional elements to inform you about the atmosphere and emissions in livestock buildings, here are some french websites of information:
